UNESCAP will commemorate the international Day for the Eradication of the Poverty at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, on Monday, 16 October 2006, from 10.00-11.00 hours. The theme of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is “Working together out of Poverty”

Marie-Claire Droz, Regional Coordinator ATD Fourth World will attends the commemoration of the international Day for the Eradication of the Poverty and delivery a five-minute statement drawing upon our organization’s experience in tackling poverty.

The commemoration is held in conjunction with the “Stand Up Against Poverty Campaign” which aims to set an official Guinness World Record for the most number of people to Stand Up Against Poverty and for the Millennium Development Golas.
