The prototype of the International Fourth World Movement was founded in 1957, in a camp for homeless families outside Paris, by the late Father Joseph Wresinski, a Catholic priest, who himself grew up in poverty. ATD Fourth World’s mission in Thailand is to bridge the gap and foster closer ties between the poorest families and the mainstream society to break down chronic poverty and social exclusion.
This mission can be translated into the following objectives :
reaching out to individuals and families living in extreme poverty and building a long-term relationship with them to obtain a better understanding of their daily lives, difficulties and aspirations

Friends of ATD Foundation was legally set up in 1992 by a group of Thai friends to promote the ATD Fourth World Movement in Thailand. The members organise poverty-related seminars and take part actively in special events, particularly on the 17th of October.
Tha members care after the well-being of the volunteers and provide the volunteers of foreign nationalities with valuable advice on understanding the culture, customs and traditions of the (...)

All Together in Dignity (ATD) Fourth World is a non - governmental organisation (NGO) founded in 1957 by Father Joseph Wresinski (1917-1988), in a shantytown near Paris, France. It is an international organisation with no religious or political affiliations ; its aim is to eradicate extreme poverty in developing and industrialised countries.
